POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Director of Philanthropy will work with The Village Family Services Vice President of Development & Communications, the CEO, the Board of Directors, and staff to create and execute a comprehensive philanthropic fundraising strategy focused on major gifts, annual giving, corporate sponsorships, foundation support, and private philanthropy. This position is responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors and philanthropic partners while expanding sustainable revenue streams that support the agency's mission and strategic priorities.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus seven (7)+ years of nonprofit fundraising, philanthropy, or development experience.
2. Demonstrated success securing major gifts from individual donors, family foundations, corporations, and philanthropic institutions.
3. Proven experience building, managing, and advancing donor portfolios through cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and renewal.
4. Adept at creating and implementing strategic fundraising and donor engagement plans.
5. Strong prospect research, donor qualification, and moves-management experience.
6. Proven record of success developing corporate sponsorships and philanthropic partnerships that result in exceeding revenue targets.
7. Ability to effectively represent the agency with executive-level leaders, philanthropists, foundation officers, and community stakeholders.
8. Strong collaborator with board leadership, executive staff, and volunteer fundraising committees.
9. Excellent relationship-building, verbal communication, presentation, and analytical skills. Bilingual Spanish a plus.
10. Experience with donor database management software and fundraising reporting tools preferred.
