POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Youth Case Worker is responsible for providing direct support to the case management and educational teams to utilize sound professional judgement and best practices in order to ensure the swift reunification of Unaccompanied Children and their sponsor(s) while maintaining compliance with established local, state, and federal policies and procedures. Provides safe escort to children.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish, ability to read, analyzes, and interprets the most complex documents.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Available to work weekends to shift work to 10:00 pm

All direct staff have proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route.

  • Varicella 2 doses (at least 4 weeks apart).
  • MMR 2 doses (at least 4 weeks apart).
  • T-Dap complete primary vaccination series completed at childhood, 1 T-Dap dose in adulthood.
  • Influenza, 1 dose annually during flu season.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide tangible support to case management and educational team.

2. Monitoring UCs during intake process

3. Monitoring students during classroom activities, playground, breaks and lunch time and supervising behavior.

4. Escort UC during restroom breaks.

5. Complete daily and weekend calls between UC and sponsor and upload the log into the UC Portal.

6. Assist in special projects.

7. Adhere to Child Abuse and reporting requirements.

8. Attending meetings and training when needed or requested.

9. Maintain flexibility and adapt to changes in order to provide the most effective care to UC.

10. Perform other duties as requested by the assigned supervisor and/or management.

  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
  • The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour

  • 8 hour shift
