POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Prevention of sexual abuse compliance manager must adhere and apply agency policies and procedures, code of ethics, Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), Federal regulation, State mandates, The Flores Settlement Agreement, Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act, Perez-Olano Settlement Agreement, and the Violence against Women Reauthorization Act.

The Prevention of Sexual Abuse Compliance Manager (PSA) is responsible for the implementation and ongoing compliance with preventing, detecting, and responding to sexual abuse and sexual harassment while in care.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited or state approved college or university as defined in Section 94310 of the Education Code, in behavioral sciences, human services or social services fields.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in the prevention/education of sexual abuse/assault, crisis interventions, and work with victim of sexual abused/assault. One year of experience working on child welfare standards, best practices, quality assurance, or compliance. One year of compliance or combination of training that exhibits the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the essential duties and procedures as determined by the licensing agency.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish), ability to read, analyzes, and interprets the most complex documents.
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications.

IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS: Be able to show proof of immunization or immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route, including:

  • Varicella: two doses of varicella vaccine (at least four weeks apart) OR born in the United States before 1980 with a reported history of chickenpox (verified by an adult present at the time of illness) OR titers indicating varicella immunity OR documentation from a healthcare provider verifying previous infection.
  • MMR: two doses of MMR vaccine (at least four weeks apart) OR titers indicating immunity to all three diseases.
  • Tdap: one Tdap dose.
  • Influenza: one dose annually during flu season.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    All of the responsibilities listed below are considered essential functions of this position. Additionally, this position is expected to ensure that the core operating values and the strategic direction of the agency are adhered to.

    1. Creating processes and policies to prevent sexual abuse and sexual harassment.
    2. Creating processes and policies to detect sexual abuse and sexual harassment.
    3. Creating processes and policies to responding to sexual abuse and sexual harassment.
    4. Work in partnership with ORR regarding PSA activities.
    5. Work in partnership with stakeholders such as DCFS, CCL and law enforcement during allegations of sexual abuse and harassment.
    6. Coordinate with community providers in cases where forensic exams or other services are requested by children.
    7. Develop organizational management structure which promotes safety and zero tolerance around sexual abuse and sexual harassment.
    8. Report any ORR policy changes or updates to the team and management.
    9. Participate in or lead regularly scheduled meetings with Federal Field Specialist and case coordinator for the management and provision of services to UC.
    10. Ensure compliance with ORR standards, state licensing standards, accreditation standards.
    11. Provide training and resources to staff regarding PSA activities.
    12. Collect, maintain and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as requested by program director.
    13. Adhere to Child Abuse and reporting requirements.
    14. Must be relied upon regarding task completion and meeting deadlines on time without sacrificing accuracy, work quality, or customer service satisfaction.
    15. Attend meetings and training when needed or requested.
    16. Perform other duties as requested by the Program Director.

      • The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

      Pay Range: $34.61/hr, non-exempt
