POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Village Psychiatric Support role is an LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, PsyD and/or license eligible/waivered, BBS registered ACSW, APCC or AMFT and is an active member of our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive mental health and therapeutic treatment services for children, adolescents/TAY, and/or adults. Experience or ability to treat clients including young children, adolescents, and/or adults with serious and persistent mental illness, co-occurring disorders, extensive trauma histories, foster care placement, and involvement in the justice system.
This person will work collaboratively with the TVFS Psychiatrist, patients, their family, medical providers, interdisciplinary team, and others. This person coordinates services between a multidisciplinary team to ensure necessary psychiatric services are delivered in adherence with the treatment plan, DMH contract and state licensing guidelines, court orders JV documentation, professional medical and mental health standards and agency policies and rules, such as home care and psychiatrist's orders. Services are office-based, via telehealth or in the field as requested and appropriate for clients receiving support services. Additional support include, but is not limited to, the following: consultations, screening/triaging initial referrals, assisting psychiatrists with scheduling appointments, requesting lab work, acting as a liaison between pharmacies, psychiatrist and patients, creating targeted goals/objectives, providing medication education services, medication review forms, providing referrals, reporting patients' progress and needs, providing information to the clinical team, and coordinating linkage to resources as needed.
The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and desire to collaborate with inter-agency department colleagues and managers to provide clients with seamless service delivery. REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
1. LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, PsyD and/or license eligible as AMFT, APCC or ACSW with BBS number.
2. Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred
3. Must possess a valid California Driver's license and state required vehicle registration and insurance
4. Travel to meet with clients in home, school, and community settings, as needed
5. Two or more years of direct practice experience working with children, adolescents/TAY, and/or adults and families
6. Excellent assessment, triage, and crisis management skills
7. Experience working within a multidisciplinary team setting and ability to learn and provide the High Fidelity Wraparound Model of services and Full-Service Partnership practices with a client centered focus;
8. Strong time management and organizational skills
9. CPR & First Aid Certified
10. Consistently meet or exceed agency client service hours expectation
11. Skilled in engaging, motivating and working with diverse individuals and groups to accomplish established goals
12. Self-directed, efficient and effective in problem solving and managing multiple demands and objectives
13. Knowledge of Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (DMH) clinical paperwork and timelines
14. Experience with EHRS
15. Basic computer skills, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook and Internet

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Work with children, adolescents/TAY, and/or adults and their families at agency assigned location (e.g., office, field, home, telehealth as appropriate)
2. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team and make referrals and linkages to resources as needed
3. Maintain standards of confidentiality
4. Respond promptly to initial psychiatry referrals; conduct screenings/triage, track/log and manage client's medication status
5. Assure cases are appropriately referred for psychiatry services and linked to resources upon discharge
6. Prep all agency and court documentation regarding medication authorization for psychiatry appointments; complete and submit to appropriate entities
7. Schedule psychiatrists' appointments and follow-ups, maintain appointment calendar, coordinate reminder calls, enter/scan/upload appropriate information into EHRS; email weekly appointment schedule to therapists/supervisors; track no-shows/cancellation
8. Assist psychiatrist in the medication appointment sessions
9. Liaison between psychiatrist, pharmacy, court, primary care, agency programs, etc. by facilitating optimal communication between all parties; obtain/complete documentation
10. Consult with team members and take necessary steps to address mental health, social, emotional, and medication needs of client by bridging communication between team members, psychiatrist, client, and family involved in treatment
11. Complete lab request forms as needed in a timely manner
12. Provide comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment for clients as time permits
13. Provide group therapy using evidence-based psychotherapy interventions as needed
14. Complete required documentation according to board affiliate ethical standards, agency policy and procedures, and accreditation requirements
15. Input documentation into EHRS with a quality of documentation that meets or exceeds The Village Family Services, behavioral board, county, state and federal standards
16. Arrange work schedule or required hours to the benefit of the program
17. Attend staff development and general staff meetings
18. Perform other duties necessary or in the best interest of the agency as assigned
