POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Case Aid must adhere and apply to the agency policies and procedures, code of ethics, Office of Refugee and Resettlement (ORR), Federal regulations, State mandates. The Flores Settlement Agreement, Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act, Perez-Olano Settlement Agreement, and the Violence against Women Reauthorization Act. The Case aide is responsible for providing direct support to the case management team to utilize sound professional judgement and best practices in order to ensure the swift reunification of Unaccompanied Children and their sponsor(s) while maintaining compliance with established local, state and federal policies and procedures. Provide safe escort to children.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
- Bilingual English/Spanish, ability to read, analyzes, and interprets the most complex documents.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications.
- All direct staff must have proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route.
- Varicella 2 doses (at least 4 weeks apart).
- MMR 2 doses (at least 4 weeks apart).
- TDap complete primary vaccination series completed at childhood, 1 TDap dose in adulthood.
- Influenza, 1 dose annually during flu season.
- COVID-19 vaccination - fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two doses of Pfizer-BioNTech; or two doses of Moderna; or one dose of Janssen)
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide tangible support to assigned case management team.
- Prepare, compile, submit, and maintain accurate records, files, forms, statistics, and additional relevant information in accord with agency policy, licensing and/or funding requirements.
- Review ORR portal for compliance with upload requirements and ensure updates are input as needed for safety and timely discharge.
- Complete calls with sponsors as assigned to gather information.
- Actively participate in safety and service-related resource development prior to UC discharge.
- Participate in planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating designated social service program(s).
- Provide documented information related to identified delays in the processing of UC cases.
- Attend scheduled meetings and participate in team decisions and operations.
- Assist in special projects.
- Case aide will escort UC, verify identification of approved sponsor and release custody of UC to approved sponsor.
- Adhere to Child Abuse and reporting requirements.
- Must be relied upon regarding task completion and meeting deadlines without sacrificing accuracy, work quality, or customer service satisfaction.
- Attend meetings and trainings when needed or requested.
- Perform other duties as requested by the assigned supervisor and or management.
